UtilityBase needs your help!

UtilityBase needs your help

UtilityBase has grown a lot since it was first started and could use some help to do administration bits and further development.

We need people to write articles, moderate articles, forums, develop new services and contribute with good ideas.

Article writing:
Write articles about evelopment on the various systems, describe techniques, common gotchas and similar. Most of you can already add articles and edit them online till they are done, but if you feel you have a lot to say, you might want to be part of the team.

Article moderation:
Basically help authors putting their articles in the right places, fix typos and generally accept or refuse articles or maybe point authors to errors to fix or additions that might be neccesary.

Forum moderation:
This shouldn't be very hard as we are blessed with very polite users. Sometimes you might need to guide posters so that their point gets thru and isn't polluted by personal attacks or similar that really on't belong in a developer forum.

Website development:
You need to have a good understanding of PHP and SQL and know good ways of accomplishing tasks. In addition creativity and being able to come up with clever solutions are appreciated abilities.

Chat moderation:
This has not been a urgent task, as most people in our channel also behaves mature, but sometimes the occational sun radiation or moon phase might skew the IRC-waves and order needs to be restored.

Financial contribution
Feel free to contribute to UtilityBase by using the PayPal button at the botom left or by going here http://utilitybase.com/donate.php. Your contribution is very much appreciated!

General info:
All tasks require you to basically have common sense and being open towards other's views and behaviour.

Of course it doesn't matter which system you prefer yourself as long as you accept that other people have different opinions and views.

No positions are paid, so you won't get rich by helping out, you might get some good friends and maybe learn the occational bit. Not to forget that all your friends will look at you in awe. ;)

If you feel tempted to be part of UtilityBase, don't hesitate in sending a mail to mail@utilitybase.com or just post a comment.

If you just have suggestions on how to improve the site, feel free to post in the Site Feedback forum.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all the users that have contributed over the years, and hope you will continue supporting the site.

Yours,
Nicolas Mendoza
